Sidebar records your meetings, writes the transcript and notes on your iPhone, and checks the facts people state as they say them.

Getting started
- Tap Record and allow the microphone and speech recognition when asked.
- The first recording in a language downloads Apple’s speech model once. After that, recording works offline.
- Tap Stop to save. Your notes appear on the meeting’s Summary tab.
Fact-checking
- While you record, statements with names, numbers and dates are checked against public sources. A coral card means a source disagrees; a green line means a source confirms it. Tap a card to open the source.
- Fact checks need an internet connection. Without one, they wait and run when you’re back online.
- Open a meeting and tap Checks to see every claim. Find more claims looks again, and Check again retries any that failed.
- Turn it off in Settings → Live fact-check.
Common questions
Summaries say they’re unavailable. Summaries use Apple Intelligence. Turn it on in the iPhone’s Settings, or use an iPhone that supports it. The transcript is always saved.
A check says “Couldn’t confirm”. No reliable public source settled it. Sidebar only flags a claim when a trusted source clearly disagrees.
